We may soon be able to see a completely new exterior, thanks to the iPhone 12 and 13 sharing the same design and style. Excited? Are you excited?
iPhone 14 Rumour: There is no more notch
The most important rumors about the iPhone 14 is that the infamous notch may disappear and Apple could adopt the “hole punch style” for its front-facing camera. This may require technological adjustments as the iPhone’s notch houses multiple sensors that enable depth perception. FaceID works extremely well.
These sensors may be positioned with the pixels on the screen. They could be placed around the frame’s edges. It is possible that a pill-form could be placed next to the hole-punch camera in order to make it work. If the reveal ends up being unnoticeable, there will be a discussion about the technology behind it.
This design could also be so modern that it is only available in the iPhone 14 Pro model. The regular iPhone 14 will continue to use the current notch design.
iPhone 14 Rumour: Four models…but not a mini
There are four iPhone 13 models, and there are many iPhone 13 colors.
Rumors claim that there may be four models of the iPhone 14, but the new model won’t have an iPhone 14 mini. Instead, it will focus on two larger sizes: 6.1-inches (or 6.7-inches).
This allows users to have more options with both standard and Pro specifications. Users can also get larger models without needing to buy the Pro model. It is possible to find the series as follows in a situation where “Max” is the larger name, and “Pro” is more costly:
- iPhone 14 (6.1-inch).
- iPhone 14 Max (6.7″).
- iPhone 14 Pro (6.1-inch)
- iPhone 14 Pro Max (6.7-inch)
iPhone 14 Rumour: E-SIM, the new standard
According to rumors, the iPhone 14 could be the first iPhone that eliminates the need for a SIM tray. Since 2018, iPhones have supported eSIM. This allows the iPhone to connect with a network operator without having a card. They could become the norm by 2022, if the rumors are true.
Some users have had great experiences using eSIMs to replace their primary provider. They can also add temporary nano SIM cards while on the road and change their SIMs whenever they need. This might be a disadvantage even though they aren’t the majority.
iPhone 14 Rumour: 4x camera’s resolution
The iPhone 13 Pro’s 12-megapixel camera array.
Another rumour is that the primary “wider” iPhone 14 camera lens will change from the 12 megapixels on the iPhone 13 to a 48-megapixel sensor. This could allow for new capabilities such as video recording in 8K. Apple’s powerful image processing capabilities could also make this possible. The iPhone’s camera bump could increase in size. Users don’t consider this a problem.
iPhone 14 Rumour: There are no ports
The iPhone 14 is believed to be the first iPhone without the Lightning port. It will replace the Lightning connector with a USB-C connector. However, there are no ports. This has been one of the most controversial rumors about iPhone updates in a while. Apple’s adoption of MagSafe charging technology allows any charging via this magnetic connection, and can concentrate all data transfer to wireless transmission.
When was the last time that you uploaded images to a computer using your smartphone? Did you use an extension cable or a physical connection to connect the device with the extension cable? Ultra-wideband technology can be used for high-speed, short-range data transfer. Apple has no plans to end this process. What happens in 2022? We will need to wait and then look forward.
There are more rumours?
These grand ideas aside, there are many whispers about small adjustments to the routine. We’re certain to continue to receive more of these as the year progresses.
The iPhone 14 regular model will continue to run on the A15 Bionic chip while the Pro version will get an A16 update. Is there a Titanium iPhone 14 that will be available as an exclusive edition only for Pro models? ProMotion 120Hz could be made available for iPhones first. With COVID reducing manufacturing in China, will we soon experience delays and shortages?
When will the iPhone 14 be launched?
The history of iPhone launches and launches suggests that the iPhone 14 will launch sometime in the second or third week of September 2022. Apple launches their iPhones on Tuesdays in America and Canada. We can expect to see the iPhone 14 being announced either on September 6 (Cupertino Time) or September 13.
